March 2015 Meeting Minutes

Here are the meeting minutes from the March gathering held at 1pm on Mar 15, 2015 at New Bern Home Brew Supply.

We would like to thank Megan and Luke for allowing us to come in to their establishment and have a Homebrew!

Introduction of Officers and Guests

A roster of all club members/ guests was taken and is as follows:

Program Speaker/Tech Talk

Dennis Overby discussed the Baltic Porter style and gave us some pointers what to look for in a good example.

Monthly Club Competition

Homebrew contest winner for February was Dennis Overby with his Belgian Dark Strong, also awarding him homebrewer of the month.

Dawn provided a detailed treasurer’s report to all that were on hand.

Committee updates

Crystal Coast Brew Off Committee  - Tim discussed where the club stands with regard to the CCBO.   Donations and judge reservations are coming in.

New/Ongoing Business

• All current events that the Club is facing were brought to the floor and discussed.

• Club By-Laws are currently with a CPA in order to move forward with the decision to apply for 501c(7) status.

• We will be meeting up at Clawson’s Restaurant again on the 17th of April to support a beer tasting.

• Stein brew will be held on 18 April
• Subject of having one person responsible for refreshments at the meeting and charging/accepting donations to cover costs.  Jason Stone volunteered and has been dubbed “Burgermeister”.
• Boom Town Beer Fest on May 9.
